Los Gigantes has a great harbour and some of the best scuba diving and glass bottom boat trips can be had in this section of Tenerife. The marina is very popular and there is a public swimming pool with an onsite restaurant nearby.
A main attraction in Los Gigantes is its black sanded beach. The beach is not that easy to get to so it is seldom crowded, the beach is lovely and clean and if you want a quiet day of sunshine, sand and sparkling water then this is the place.
Right next door to Los Gigantes is Play de la Arena or sandy beach, which is rated as one of the finest beaches in the locality. The beach has been awarded the European blue flag for several years running and is a wonderful clean, sandy beach that leads down to the beautiful blue sea.
Play de la Arena is a natural beach that is located about halfway along the coastal road, the black sand is a reminder of the island’s volcanic history. The waters are usually calm in this spot but if you see a red flag that means swimming is prohibited and you shouldn’t ignore the warning.
